Overview:

Provides design services to customers, including site/inventory verification (as needed), programming, typical development, shop drawings & specifications. Works closely with sales, customer service & project manager as well as customers, to ensure accurate plans and specifications reach the customers satisfaction and highest quality of implementation.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Attend client meetings as requested by Sales or PM, presents plan and information to customers for review & approval.
  • Reviews site; conducts field measurements as needed
  • Inventories existing product (as needed); produces as-built drawings/specifications.
  • Develops shop drawings for client/architect approval and sign off.
  • Develops color palette as necessary for client sign off
  • Develops hardware package for client sign off
  • Develops project specification and reviews against plan; gets BOM order entry ready and hands off to PM & Director for final spec check.
  • Manages changes and revisions
  • Uploads current working version of plan with dimensions to PlanGrid for site surveyor
  • Checks PlanGrid against drawing to ensure measurements are on track.
  • Develops installation package for the installation company
  • Helps PM with punch list (as needed)
  • Provide list pricing for RFP and proposal submittals.
  • Maintains detailed and extensive project documentation, including records of all key decisions, phone conversations, approvals & sign offs and notes from all project meetings.
  • Help to maintain a project log which includes any change orders and back charges along with general project information. All critical information must be kept on the network.
  • Communicates regularly with PM and Director on project status, issues & concerns in regards to overall design or schedule.
  • Coordinates tel/data & power with outside vendors
  • Attends pre-install meetings with installation teams and PM.
  • Ensures complete & accurate Order Entry Form to order entry & PM
  • Prompt, reliable and regular attendance
    Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least three years of related experience required.
  • Teknion product knowledge

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • CET Designer
  • Teknion Storyboard
  • G suite
  • PlanGrid
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
