MilliporeSigma

MilliporeSigma sought to design a new Life Science Center to foster a collaborative environment where customers work alongside scientists to solve the toughest problems in life science.

Officeworks, along with Cannon Design (Chicago) and The Guiterrez Company were able to construct a magnificent Life Science Center for MilliporeSigma, a division of Merck KGaA in Burlington, Massachusetts. This new M Lab Collaboration Center replaced the company’s Billerica facility.

“This new and more expansive MilliporeSigma Campus gives us a unique, multi-use life science hub in the United States—one that provides our employees and customers with a sustainable and collaborative working environment,” Udit Batra, Millipore Sigma’s CEO, said in a statement.

MilliporeSigma is focused on developing a broad range of scientific products aimed at helping scientists make advancements in biotech and pharmaceutical drug therapies. Designed to foster a hands-on, collaborative environment where customers work alongside scientists to solve the toughest problems in life science, MilliporeSigma opened a new 280,000 sf Life Sciences Center — home to nearly 1,000 employees.

The building serves as a global customer destination, housing a customer service and call center, a customer collaboration laboratory and training center, office space, and 40,000 sf of specialty laboratory and technical operations for Lab Americas, Provantage and the M Lab Collaboration Center.

We collaborated with Cannon Design and the MilliporeSigma team to provide furniture specification, design layout, renderings, project management and delivery and install.
